How We Met - The True Version...

So, the magical meeting of the two crazy-goofy-east-valley-love-birds occured on December 15th in the most romantic of settings...over the phone. Yes, its true...we met over the phone. No, this was not some 1-900 get a spouse hotline...I swear it! Well...here's how it did go (and if Seth tells you a different version, well, let's face it...I'm right!!! Hee hee)

Okay, I wanted to attend a different ward for a bit and my friend David offered for me to attend his ward. At Relief Society a wonderful young woman named Lisa Allen sat in front of me and thus heard me sing. She then proceeded to ask for my contact information wanting me to perform for a charity concert she wanted to put on in April. We talked for a while and exchanged information.

The next day I received a phone call from a number I didn't recognize. Now, those who know me understand two things about my phone usage: 1. I almost never answer numbers I don't recognize and 2. I hate talking on the phone...seriously, I really do! So, I looked at the number, set the phone down cause I didn't recognize it, and then it just kept nagging me until I gave in and answered.

Upon answering I heard, "Hi my name is Seth Adams. You don't know me, but Lisa Allen gave me your number and said you're a singer. Well, I'm organizing an octet for a fireside in January and was wondering if you'd be willing to sing in it". Well, we ended up talking 2 hours that night and then through my lunch hour the next day...at which time he said, "hey, I've got to drop the music off to you tonight anyways, so why how about I take you out to dinner"? I, obviously, said yes.

Well, huge bonus that my mystery man happened to be oh-so-handsome and oh-so-wonderful in oh-so-many ways! So, we just started dating full force, fell in love, got engaged and now...bring on eternity!!! Amen and hallelujah!!!

So there you go...in the briefest nutshell I can manage to put it in (which I realize is quite the oversized nutshell, but what do you do for a larger than life random story like ours?!?!). Well, I guess I could have made it briefer if I had said, "we met over the phone due to a common acquantence giving him my information as a singer and just hit it off from there". But seriously...where's the fun in that eh?!

Making the invites!

Ah, the invites! A slightly important aspect of any wedding - that is if you want any of your friends and family to know about and be able to attend your wedding. Like I said...slightly important.

Although the images above turned out blurry, it gives you a feel for how the invite looks prior to being printed. With a tri-fold item it is always hard to imagine how these flat pages will turn into a folded invite...but it does!

My excitement on these invites is that I was very involved. Actually, I was completely involved. Meaning...I designed the invites (many hours of detail design work!!!), prepared them for print, and after my print company did the printing, I actually used the big cutting machine to cut everything myself. And that is quite the task because it has to be incredibly precise! Also, I got the exciting task of folding and stuffing over 500 invites! That's right...all by hand!

So, besides actually running the print job, I got to do everything for these invites. Kind of makes me feel a little proud and get that warm fuzzy feeling inside...woo hoo! :)
